Episode #51: Keeping Your Positivity Up featuring Jon Gordon

“We don't get burned out because of what we do. We get burned out because we forget why we do it so the why keeps us going and keeps us fresh. And also when you know the why you'll know the way.”

Staying positive isn’t always the easiest thing in the world to do and as much as we want to maintain a positive attitude and look at the bright side of things, we often are challenged to do so. For some, being positive comes naturally with little to no effort regardless of the situation or circumstance. Then there are those who have to put forth a serious attempt to make it happen.

Best selling author and keynote speaker, Jon Gordon was one of those people who wasn't naturally positive from the onset and had to work at being less negative. In fact, it took nearly losing his marriage for him to realize that a shift was necessary.

Jon began the process to do the work to get himself to a better place and it started with determining his WHY.

“I remember saying like, why am I so miserable? You know, why am I here? What is my purpose, writing and speaking came to me, and I wanted to be more positive. So I said, Alright, I'm going to start there, I'm going to start looking and finding ways that I could use to be more positive and that began this journey.”

Jon is a best-selling author and has written 25 books including the timeless classic The Energy Bus: 10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work, and Team with Positive Energy which he released in 2007 and has sold over 2 million copies.

Jon has inspired readers around the world and he stops by the podcast to share his thoughts and strategies on developing a more positive attitude, the significance of uncovering your WHY and the difference a positive can have on ourselves and the lives of others.
