Wanting a sense of belonging is a very natural desire for people to want to experience however, it should never be done at the expense of who you are as an individual. Many people often spend much of their life trying to fit in with hopes of pleasing people, making family and friends proud or looking for approval from others. This way of living can be a slippery slope because you become so used to catering to the needs of others that you forget what they truly want for themselves. Over time, if you’re constantly trying to prove your worth to people, it may be true that you’ve already forgotten your value.

“So I made this physical change and I was able to do it quickly. I had medical support. I had emotional support, I had all these things going for me and it still didn't amount to the change that I wanted deep inside..”

Coach Lee Hopkins (he/him/his) is a transgender man who helps people create lasting friendships. After struggling with loneliness most of his life, he's tried various ways to resolve it— including moving across the US to find his tribe and fit in. He’s learned that the key to creating meaningful relationships is not “fitting in” or “finding your tribe”, it’s about attracting your vibe. He’ll show us how this is possible for everyone.

Lee chats with Audley on The Audacious Living Podcast and shares his iwn personal story of transformation as a transman, the importance of being true and authentic to ourselves and an important framework for creating boundaries that stick.
