In the world of weight loss and nutrition, there's often tremendous emphasis placed on reaching that magic number on a scale. A question that isn’t often thought about on the pathway to make it to that desired weight particularly at the beginning of the weight loss journey is what happens when we reach our goal? With so much emphasis on reaching that ideal goal, the importance of maintenance as a form of progress is often not even considered. Perhaps its due to the fact that it can’t be measured on a scale?

Instead of focussing all of our attention on trying to lose weight, restricting calories/food groups and exercising as much as possible to impact the number on the scales, what about if we learnt how to stay exactly the same.

“We don't take the time to look back and be like, Yo, two years ago, this was outside of my scope of what I even thought was possible. Last year, I only thought I could do x and now I'm here and but we're still on to the next on to the next. So when sometimes it's nice to be like, hey, you know what I like? Oh, I didn't have any growth this year. Yeah, but you stayed the same as you did in your biggest growth year last year. Like amazing job.”
