Episode #99: The Possibilities Magic Creates Featuring Brandon Love

“These days, I spend a lot of my time thinking about how much magic reminds us of the limits of our perceptions and I like to say magic is constantly telling us that we're always missing something.”

It seems like a very natural thing for children to believe in the idea that magic exists, the effort required to convince them that the power of the pixie dust is real is minimal at best. Having a belief that magic exists can prove to be a very healthy thing because it has a way of creating a sense of wonder and amazement inside of us which in turn sparks our imagination and curiosity.

Being in a state of wonder can be a beautiful thing because it allows us to give consideration to the fact that new possibilities could exist. Its in this state that our minds are active and open and we learn the most. It creates a sense of purpose or passion and gives us cause to believe there's something more than who we are, which is exciting. It also unites people in an experience in the same way a good comedy show, or movie would. The benefits of wonder are immense and perhaps the easiest pathway to get there would be through our childhood.

“The basis of magic is to show you something you previously believed was impossible and in so doing, you're left if only for a moment reconstructing and remaking sense of the world what you thought.”
